It seems like low-carb diets are all the rage lately, almost everyone I know has either been on one before or is trying it right now. But did you know the low-carb diet is actually a terrible choice if you want to lose weight permanently?

Here’s why…if you start a low-carb diet, your goal usually isn’t to eat that way for the rest of your life. In fact, most people just go into the diet with the plan to be on it for 3 months or lose 15 pounds then their done.

Then as soon as they reach their goal and get off the diet the weight rebounds right back to where it was, sometimes higher. This is because low-carb diets really aren’t that healthy for you. Restricting your body from getting one of the 3 essential macro nutrients (carbs, protein, fat) is actually a really bad idea.

If you want to lose weight without the rebounds and always-tired feeling, then you should just focus on eating healthier. Focusing the majority of your diet on raw, natural whole foods will give your body exactly what it needs to stay healthy and shed fat naturally.

Start grocery shopping a little differently from here on out. Stay away from food that is man-made in a factory, and get focused more on the fresh foods that God has provided us with. Visit farmer’s markets to find great deals on organic produce and start to eat more fruits, vegetables, and meat.

By changing small things at a time you’ll be able to lose weight naturally and get more energy than ever. And the best part is you’ll be able to stick with it for the rest of your life because healthy food actually tastes good!
